How To Apply

**Bishop Grimes is currently accepting applications for the 2020-2021 school year!**

 

Step 1: Scholarship Entrance Exam

We invite all candidates interested in entering grades 7 thru 9 at Bishop Grimes, to register for our Scholarship/Entrance Exam.  Assessment results determine our scholarship awards.  Last year, Bishop Grimes Junior/Senior High School offered over $96,000 in academic scholarships to students.

Students must register for the Scholarship/Entrance Exam by either filling out the online registration form or by contacting Sue Collins, our Director of Admissions & Enrollment, via phone at (315) 314-7157 or email at scollins@syrdiocese.org.  

 

 

Step 2: Submitting your Application for Admission

Pursuant to the satisfactory completion of the Scholarship/Entrance Exam, we will invite the candidate and his/her family to complete an Application for Admission.

With your application, please be sure to include all of the following documents and return them via mail or e-mail,  to the attention of our Director of Admissions & Enrollment, Mrs. Sue Collins (scollins@syrdiocese.org).

Each family must turn in a signed Handbook Signature Form (Covenant Statement) at the start of the school year to remain on file for the 2020-2021 school year for each student at Bishop Grimes Jr./Sr. High School. Failure to turn in the signed form may result in the student’s suspension or dismissal from the school. Student/Parent Handbook

  • Please submit both last year’s report card and this year’s, to-date, report card.
  • Prospective 7th and 8th grade students are required to submit one letter of recommendation, while prospective 9th, and up, students are required to submit two letters of recommendation.
  • Please refer to the Health Information tab at the left side of this page for all necessary documents required to be submitted to our health office.

Step 3: Candidate Interview

Pursuant to a positive review of your application, the candidate will be contacted for an admissions interview.

 

Step 4: Receive our Decision Letter, Enrollment, and Registration

Please note that all offers of enrollment/acceptance are on a conditional/probationary basis pending review of final grade reports, behavior reports, and attendance records.

 

Step 5: Financial Aid and Tuition Assistance

All candidates are encouraged to submit an application for financial aid. The financial aid application process is separate from the admissions application. Bishop Grimes Junior/Senior High School, in partnership with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse, is committed to providing an outstanding and affordable education to all those interested in joining our community.  In accordance with this mission, Bishop Grimes and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse offered over $400,000 in tuition assistance to our families for the 2019-2020 school year alone.

YEAZEL CATHOLIC EDUCATION ENDOWMENT FUND. In addition to the FACTS Tuition Assistance application, we also encourage all of our Bishop Grimes families seeking tuition assistance to submit a separate application to the Yeazel Catholic Education Endowment Fund. The Yeazel Catholic Education Endowment Fund is a short additional application that families are able to fill out in order to apply to have Bishop Grimes receive additional tuition assistance for your child(ren). Click here to complete the Yeazel Catholic Education Endowment Fund application form. For more information about the Yeazel Catholic Education Endowment Fund, visit the fund’s website by clicking here. Please note that to be considered for any funds from the Yeazel Catholic Education Endowment Fund, a FACTS application MUST be submitted. The deadline for submitting an application to the Yeazel Catholic Education Endowment Fund is also February 15, 2020.
