Congratulations to the 2017 Athletics Hall of Fame Inductees! Inductions took place on January 15, 2017.
The following members were inducted into the Hall of Fame:
1. MaryLu Matott ’88 was a three sport athlete who earned 11 varsity letters at Bishop Grimes. She was the starting point guard on the 1986 and 1987 teams that reached the NYS Final Four. She is a member of the basketball 1,000-point club and earned a scholarship to play collegiately at Fairfield University. MaryLu would return to Grimes to coach the Lady Cobras to two league titles before moving to Connecticut where she coached three sports. As a coach, she won three Connecticut State Softball Championships.
2. Bishop Grimes 1973 Boys Cross Country Team is still the only Bishop Grimes team to win a NYSPHSAA State Championship. They also hold the distinction of being the first Catholic School team to win a state title in any sport.
