Students must be present for these exams as the state has rigorous regulations as to the timing that these exams are offered. Please ensure that your son/daughter is present on the day of these state assessments. Students must also be in Bishop Grimes dress code when present for exams.

If your student has a morning exam, he or she may be picked up, if you are able to do so, around noon at the conclusion of his/her exam. Similarly, if he/she has an afternoon exam beginning at noon, he or she can be dropped off by a parent at around 11:45 in order to be here for the start of the exam. If a student has to take a bus because personal transportation is not available, he or she will be able to wait in the Cafeteria with supervision until 3:00. Please note that there is no after-school supervision on exam days. Students should either be picked up after their exam or plan to take their bus home. Students are not to “hang out” in the building following the conclusion of the day’s last exam. Thank you for your help in this matter.

Finally, we would ask for your patience as teachers score the state assessments. Each Regents exam has to be scored by a panel of teachers at the school. Once that has been completed, the state exams have to be taken to our local BOCES Regional Information Center (RIC) for scanning and score verification. We are not able to post or give information about the scores of these exams until they have been verified by the RIC as well as our Assistant Superintendent of Catholic Schools. This process takes a few days. Please know that many times we are just as anxious about the receiving the results of the exams as you and your students. We thank you for your understanding and patience as we follow the procedures that have been established.
