Mr. Patrick Kinne (’98), Acting Principal
Welcome to Cobra Country!
Let me begin by answering a common question: Why does a Catholic school have a cobra as its mascot? It’s a question I myself have wrestled with, but I have since reconciled it upon reading Matthew 10:16. As Christ is sending out the twelve Apostles, He says, “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.” At the core of who we are and what we do at Bishop Grimes, we seek to equip our students with the wisdom to discern where Christ is calling them to go in this world and how they too are called to share the Gospel with those who have not yet heard the Good News with a spirit of love and invitation.
As a proud BG alumnus, veteran faculty member, and current parent of two Bishop Grimes students, I am truly blessed and honored to be serving my alma mater as Acting Principal.
I welcome you to come and explore Bishop Grimes. I know BG to be a school and faith community in which our students are challenged to grow each day in their book knowledge while also building and strengthening their personal relationship with Christ by learning what it means to be a Catholic teenager and follower of Christ in today’s world. I continue to have the privilege of working with a dedicated group of faculty and staff members who push our students to think, reflect, and excel whether it be in the classroom, a lab, our chapel, on the field, or on stage.
I love Bishop Grimes, and it is no secret that I am rumored to bleed blue and white. As an alum, Bishop Grimes has been a huge part of my life since 1992, and my experiences and the people I met at Bishop Grimes molded me into the person I am today. I pray each day that our faculty and staff members, students, and Bishop Grimes families will be able to experience the passion and transforming power that being part of the Bishop Grimes community has the potential to bring.
It is my fervent prayer and goal to try to do what is best for the students of our school community in order to prepare them for where God will take them next while also supporting our teachers and Bishop Grimes families in any and every way that I am able to do so.
Again, welcome to Cobra Country! Be assured of my prayers.
Spera in Deo,
Mr. Pat Kinne (Class of 1998), Acting Principal
